What I've been up to // Update

Well it's been a busy couple of weeks but I've managed to squeeze in some time to do a few things like baking and cooking healthier meals. I can't stand being bored but at the same time I don't like being rushed off my feet because I'm so busy. I prefer my days to be somewhere in between but unfortunately it cannot always be that way. Anyway, what have I been up to?
Beauty
I've been playing around with my latest eye liner pen which featured in my post here when I first got it. It's quite easy to use but the only thing that niggles me is that it doesn't seem to give off enough product when you press it against your skin, so you have to keep going back over it to create a nice dark line like in the picture below. Besides that though, it's fine and I really liked the finished look.
I've also been trying real hard to paint my nails more often because I can use really happy colours on my nails to express how I'm feeling (or how I want to be feeling!), which is something I can't really do otherwise. I don't own a lot of bright colours in my wardrobe so I think a nice, bright nail colour can set off an otherwise bland outfit by adding a little pop of colour. I just bought a few new polishes which I'll be trying out and posting about soon so watch this space.

Gardening
I wouldn't say that I have a green thumb but I do enjoy watching things grow. The supermarket had an offer on recently whereas you spent a certain amount and received mini gardens that you could seed at home and grow your own herbs and vegetables. We had 12 to begin with and they are doing great! They all started showing above the soil after about a week and my girls and I have really enjoyed looking after these tiny plants and watching them get bigger and bigger. I think they'll be ready to re-pot into a bigger container by the end of the month and then we've got about another dozen to plant and look after.

Planting these little gardens also inspired me to tidy up my back garden of all the weeds, leaves and other messy things that seem to accumulate in the garden during the winter. I know that it doesn't look overly pretty in the picture below but trust me, it definitely looks better than it did! I've cut away all the dead parts of my plants ready for the new spring growth and made a new border out of some left over bricks that I had laying around. I'm going to finish it off with some cocoa bean shells to restore it to its former glory of last summer. I think I'll post some new pictures once it's all done and the sun is shining. Some of my plants have new blossoms on already which I think are so pretty.

So that was a short update of what I've been up to recently besides everything else that I've been posting about. Thanks for reading and happy Springtime everyone!
