L'Oréal True Match Foundation

Keeping with the theme of shopping my stash, I thought it was time to talk about this foundation. I have been falling in and out of love with it for a couple of months and find myself reaching for it again at the moment. The one I have is in the shade R5-C5 Rose Sand and is quite a good match for my skin tone.

Packaging
It comes in a curved bottle that is a good size and shape to grip. I think the thing that lets the packaging down a bit is the dispenser part. It's perfectly functional and dispenses the right amount for application in one go, but what I don't like about it is the look. It is a silver plastic dispenser and I think it cheapens the look a bit, but I must remind myself that this is a drug store foundation that only costs €15,99.

Texture & coverage
The creamy textures allows for easy application. I normally use one pump of product and use a flat foundation brush to spread it on before blending it in with my buffing brush. I would say that it provides a medium coverage when used over multiple blemishes. I think it does deliver on making my skin look smoother when I'm wearing it, but I'm not sure about it helping to physically improve the look of my skin after 2 weeks of use. To be honest, I noticed no differences.

Lasting power
The two important factors for me when it comes to foundation are coverage and lasting power. Like I said, this has adequate coverage but I had to test out the lasting power. On a normal working day, I applied my foundation at 7:30 am and carried on with my day as usual. At 10:30 am, a couple of my angrier spots started to rear their ugly heads and were visible and after lunch at about 1:00 pm, the coverage had pretty much worn away. So I estimate that the staying power of this foundation is 4-6 hours. Using finishing powder may add about another hour onto that but doesn't make much difference for me. This of course can vary from person to person. All in all, I am back in love with this foundation for the time being.
