I am a huge fan of drug store brands and I thought I'd round up a few of my favourite single eye shadows.
All three of these eye shadows have a metallic finish and can be used dry or wet depending on how intense you want the look to be, My personal preference is to use them wet as not only do they look great but they also tend to last longer.
L'Oréal Color Appeal
These eye shadows are simply gorgeous and it's a shame that they've gone out of the L'Oréal range in the shops but I do manage to still get my hands on them from time to time whilst perusing the sale aisles and in budget stores. This one in particular is my favourite of the colours I own and the name perfectly describes the colour. It is number 153 - Metal Plum.
There is not a lot of difference between using it wet or dry but I think the metallic effect shines through just a little bit more when you use it wet.
Left - dry, Right - wet
Essence 3D eye shadow
As one of the most affordable make up brands that I know of, I must say that Essence delivers a quality that is not usually expected for the price that you pay. This is an eye shadow duo so technically shouldn't be featured in a post about singles but as I usually use these shades together and they are not part of a larger palette, then I wanted to feature them here.
It contains two gorgeous colours which are as delicious as the name implies; 03 - Irresistible choco cupcake. Perfect for creating a smouldering look for night and a delicate embellished look for the daytime.
Left - dry, Right - wet ... Left - dry, Right - wet
Catrice Intensif' Eye
Last but certainly not least is this eye shadow by Catrice. At first I didn't like it very much and as a result, it lay hidden in my make up drawer for quite some time. Now it has been rescued and placed into a handier position on my dressing table top. Just like with the others, I prefer to use this one wet but unlike the others using this one wet makes a big difference. When used dry it has a very powdery texture which is nothing special, but this eye shadow seems to come alive when used wet. I have it in colour 090 - Ninja Purples and I love the shimmery purple colour that you get from it.
Left - dry, Right - wet
So that's my little round up of my fave budget singles. Thanks for reading!
