I am naturally curvy and yet for years I have tried to fit my curves into fashion that was designed for a more slender body shape instead of embracing my curves in all their glory. So I have been reading more about dressing for your body shape which has radically changed my view on what clothes I should buy. If I could, then I would probably replace half of my wardrobe right away but as my purse won't allow for that metamorphosis in one go, then I guess I will have to take a step by step approach over a longer period of time.
I have curly afro hair but I have been taming it for years. I never learnt how to care for my hair properly because it never occurred to me that the care I was giving my hair was only about half of what it needed. I think the transformation of views towards natural hair especially during the last year on the internet and in magazines has been amazing and really inspired me to take a good look at how to care for my hair and create more afro friendly styles. I have particularly found a lot of my inspiration on Pinterest which is filled with helpful tips about care and styling.
Getting to know yourself is one of the first steps to happiness in my opinion. If you know yourself better then you can look at yourself as a whole and feel happier with what you view in the mirror, instead of just concentrating on the things you don't like which as women, we tend to do too much.
Thanks for reading!
