Well another year has passed and you may or may not have achieved your goals during 2014. As you can't change the past, all you can do is look to the future and set some new goals for the new year.
That's exactly what I've been doing and out of the numerous things I've thought of, I've narrowed it down to the three that I think I'll actually achieve. We all lead busy lives nowadays so you have to know your limits and I don't think it's worth setting loads of goals that I won't ever get around to doing.
When I was thinking of my goals, I thought about things that I could do throughout the year and that were measurable so that I could see when I have achieved them.
In 2015 I want to...
- Cross 1 home improvement item off my list each month - My house still needs a lot of work doing to it to turn it into the home I want it to be. I am a strong believer of home being where the heart is, but that doesn't mean that it can't be an aesthetically pleasing home at the same time. I have loads of ideas so I think it's about time to tackle some of them one step at a time.
- Go to the gym 3 times a week - It's not a lot really when you think about it. It's just about getting up and going, and then staying motivated. Easy enough, right? Er... we shall see. Well I may be getting a gym partner soon so that should help a bit.
- Get more creative - Just like with my home improvement plans, I have loads of ideas for creative projects but work, family and general laziness tend to get in the way. I am going to make a determined effort to make some of these ideas a reality this coming year. I won't say that I'll be able to get one done each month but if I complete 5 projects during the year, then I'll be happy.
Those are the three goals I have for 2015. I don't think it's too much to squeeze alongside my job, family and everything else so I don't really have any more excuses.
Have a great new year and good luck with your resolutions!
