5 city breaks I'd like to take

There is something exhilarating about jumping in the car or hopping on a plane and taking off for a weekend away somewhere new. We've decided to take more mini breaks rather than one big holiday per year as I think you get to experience a lot more things and it's easier to keep to a budget. In December, we went to Brussels in Belgium which you can read about here. We were there only for the day but we had a great time taking a chilled out walk around the city. We also went to a very cool museum whilst we were there which was fun for both us and the kids.
Here are some more places I'd like to visit...

Cologne - Top of my list just happens to be one of the closest to where I live. I have heard that it is a lovely place to visit for a city break and that it is full of culture with its many museums. As it's so nearby (about 3 hours drive), this will definitely be my first destination for when the weather gets a bit nicer. I also found a family deal on the tourism website that looks like a really good offer for us but of course, we will have to research it a bit more before booking.

Barcelona - I have been here before but that was with work so I didn't get the full experience. From what I did see and do though, I would really like to go back with the family and properly see what this city has to offer. It would be nice to visit during the summertime as the weather should be lovely and hot.

Naples - My friend comes from Naples so I will probably visit there with her sometime soon and that way, I will get to see the real side of the city. I absolute love it in Italy and still have fond memories of a holiday in Rome that we took quite a few years ago, so it will be interesting to see what Naples has to offer.

Lisbon - We have friends who live just south of Lisbon so we really should get our acts together and travel out there. I've never been to Portugal but hear that it's a nice place to visit and I'm sure that having locals to show us around will make the trip even better.

Bruges - Last but not least on my list is Bruges which is also not too far away and I hear it's an even nicer place than Brussels, which is where I went last month and enjoyed thoroughly.

So those are the 5 city trips that I'm planning to take sometime soon. I can't say that I'll get them all done this year, but I'm definitely going to try to travel more in 2015.

Thanks for reading!
