If I wasn't like a kid at Christmas already, then I totally became one when I untied the pretty bow on the lush black box and opened it to reveal the Naked palette by Urban Decay. I think I actually squealed with joy! (totally unlike me) I've wanted this palette for so long but haven't gotten around to buying it. My husband knows me so well of course and got this for me as a special christmas surprise.
Packaging
This is my first in the Naked palette series and I was not expecting to take this out of its packaging and behold a velour covered palette. That was a surprise! All of my other palettes are either in card, plastic or tin cases but this one feels so plush and special. It has the name of the palette embossed in gold lettering on the top and has a magnetic closing. The packaging is sleek and a deep chocolate brown colour. There is a wide mirror inside that's perfect for make up on the go.Colours
It contains a whopping 12 colours consisting of light, brown, bronze and gold shades with a black and blueish shade for contrasting. It has both shimmers and mattes to work with and as always, the pay off from these eye shadows is simply fantastic. You get a lot of pigmentation out of these colours so you don't have to apply much, meaning that these palettes last a really long time.
Cost
When I talk to people who are not familiar with Urban Decay, they're a bit shocked by the cost of these palettes. This one in particular costs €48,70 from Beauty Bay which is where my hubby bought it from and my go-to place for UD products over this side of the pond. Personally I don't think that's a lot to pay for 12 good quality eye shadows when you can easily pay €10-15 for a drug store duo. Altogether, I think this is great value.
Overall
I'm extremely happy with my new palette. It comes complete with a double ended brush and samples of all 4 of the UD eye shadow primer potions. Each sample is meant to contain about a weeks worth of primer which is great so you can find the perfect one before you buy the full sized which is quite pricey on its own.
Thanks for reading!
