Just a quick one today as we head into the weekend. When I was growing up we always had lovely smelling bars of soap with which to wash with, but somewhere along the way bars of soap went 'out of fashion'. I'm not sure when this happened exactly but everyone began using liquid soap and I must admit that we followed suit. I don't know why. Especially when you consider that liquid soap is way more expensive, packaged in plastic and lasts a fraction of the time. Bars of soap became something that granny's use and weren't 'hip' anymore.
I'm using an absolutely gorgeous smelling strawberry heart soap at the moment that I picked up at a local market stall full of handmade soaps. It makes me think of summer whenever I wash with it and it's extremely moisturizing too so it doesn't dry out my skin.
You can buy bars of soap from just about anywhere and not only will you save money in the long run but also reduce the amount of plastic you use which is always a good thing. If you want to splurge, then there are even soaps from designer brands such as Dior etc so you could get one in your favorite scent. Whichever way you choose to go, the humble bar of soap is back and here to stay and I think I'll be making use of some of those tutorials soon.
Have a great weekend!
When I was a kid we always used Lifebouy soap which I hated
