I've been thinking about making something yummy for a while now and I've been a huge fan of oats since I had my youngest daughter. Having never made flapjacks before, I began perusing the internet for recipes and found that there are many different ways of making them. As I didn't find one that I was completely happy with, I decided to adapt one in my own way.
Okay, they're not completely healthy due to the sugar content but oats are meant to be really good for you and encourage slower digestion which as a snack it should keep you satisfied in between meals.
Ingredients
225g oats
50g sugar
50g butter
4 tbsp golden syrup
2 handfuls of raisins
Method
Preheat the oven to 160° (fan assisted)
Melt the sugar, butter and golden syrup together in a pan over a low heat
Add the oats and raisins to the liquid mixture and stir well
Pour the mixture into a baking tray
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden
Leave to cool and then slice into bars
They turned out extremely well and tasted delicious!
