Summer is a great time to be out and about, especially with the little ones. When it's nice weather you don't want to be cooped up inside, you want to be outside enjoying the sunshine but what can you do so the kids don't get bored? Well here's a seriously easy and low-cost idea...
On our last outing we went to the beach and had a great time whilst keeping the costs to a minimum. You can read more about it here. This time I thought we'd make the most of the natural habitat around us and go on a Nature Hunt. It's so easy to put together and completely adaptable to your environment whether you live in the countryside like we do or in the suburbs of a busy city. All you have to do is create a 'hunt sheet' using pictures or drawings of creatures and/or plants etc. that can be found in your area. Then armed with some crayons and perhaps a picnic (just in case you get peckish!), off you go on your hunt.
This could keep your littles ones busy for about 30 mins to an hour depending on how old they are, how many things they have to find and how difficult it is to find them. Just try not to make it too difficult and remember that it is meant to be fun!

Have fun!
