I travel quite far to work everyday and with traffic, it can take me an hour (if not more) each way. Being stuck in traffic can be extremely boring, so I choose to listen to the radio or put on some of my fave tunes on Spotify.
I must admit that I am one of those people who sings in the car. You know the type that you see bopping their head and making funny facial expressions when you look in the rear view mirror. Yep, I'm one of those!
I used to feel a bit self conscious about this and would stop and pretend to be one of the 'normal' commuters whenever the traffic came to a stop. But then I thought "Nah, to hell with it" and now I continue with my solo act throughout my entire journey.
I thought that I was the only one who does this, as I had never seen proof that anyone else did it... until last week. I was stuck in a particularly long traffic jam. When I looked behind me, I saw a woman who looked like she was having a very animated conversation with herself. But then I realized that she was singing along to her radio.
I derived two conclusions from this; 1. I am not alone (yay!) and 2. OMG, do I really look like that when I'm singing away in my car?!
After coming to terms with this (conclusion number 2 in particular), I decided that I don't really care if I look like a complete nutter animatedly singing to myself in the car.
The point is that I enjoy my daily commutes more because of it and it helps the time fly by quicker.
